JOHN A. ACCAVALLO, CPA

John A. Accavallo is the managing partner of MAWC, LLC and has acquired knowledge in Governmental, Not-for-profit, Construction, Manufacturing and Professional Service Industries.  John is a certified public accountant in the State of Connecticut with nearly 20 years of experience.  Prior to becoming a partner at MAWC, CPAs, LLC, he was a manager with UHY Advisors, a national firm, which serviced entities ranging from $1 million dollars to $8 billion dollars.

John has assisted many governmental entities through financial reporting conversions such as the GASB 34 “New Reporting Model” and Not-for-Profit entities with FASB ASC 958 formerly SFAS No. 117 Financial Statements of Not-for-Profits.

He is a graduate from Sacred Heart University with a B.S. degree in Accounting.  John is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Connecticut State Society of Public Accountants, National Governmental Finance Officers’ Association and Connecticut Governmental Finance Officers’ Association.

DARIN L. OFFERDAHL, MBA, CPA

Darin L. Offerdahl is a partner with MAWC, LLC.  Darin has over 25 years of experience providing audit, accounting and advisory services to governmental, non-profit and commercial organizations.  Darin’s experience with national, regional and local public accounting firms directing client relationships, engagements and audit teams and auditing the financial statements of a wide range of governmental, non-profit and commercial organizations highlights his professionalism and knowledge.  Darin is a Licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Connecticut.

Darin spent a number of years at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, a publicly traded biotech.  As their Director of Financial Reporting and Compliance, Preceding Alexion, Darin spent several years with Acme United, a publicly traded manufacturer and distributor of office supplies, as their Accounting Director.  Darin earned his Bachelor of Science from Southern Connecticut State University and Master of Business Administration, Finance and Accounting from Regis University School of Management.

Darin is a member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Government Finance Officers Association of Connecticut (GFOA).  Darin is a director with 818 Ministries International, Inc. and a former director and treasurer of The Multicultural Leadership Institute, Inc. and Adelbrook, Inc.  Darin is also a 3rd Degree black belt instructor and member of the World Tang Soo Do Association teaching youth, adult and special needs classes weekly.

KERRY EMERSON

Kerry L. Emerson is a tax and accounting manager with MAWC, LLC. Kerry has over 20 years of experience providing accounting, tax, advisory services and estate planning to organizations and individuals across Connecticut. Kerry’s years of experience with local public accounting firms include directing client relationships with regards to accounting, tax strategies and tax compliance requirements for a wide range of closely-held organizations.

She is a graduate of Rutgers University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She leads and actively participates in the planning and preparation of quarterly and annual tax compliance needs for both closely held businesses and not-for-profit organizations. Kerry is also often utilized by clients as a “temporary controller” or “finance director or advisor” when they need personnel. Her experience of running and operating the financial function of a business or non-profit gives our clients added comfort in knowing we can help them under times of stress. Kerry is on the Board of Directors of Youth and Family Services of Haddam-Killingworth, Inc. supporting the needs of local youth and families.

OUR STAFF

Marilyn L. Ferris is a manager with MAWC, LLC.  Marilyn has 25 years of experience in Business and Individual taxation.  Marilyn is a certified public accountant licensed in the State of Connecticut.  She is a graduate of Sacred Heart University with a master’s in business administration degree in Taxation and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Central Connecticut State University.

Robert E. Dains is a manager with MAWC, LLC and has 36 years of public accounting experience.  Specializing in accounting and tax for small to medium size businesses, as well as preparation of personal income tax returns.  Bob is a certified public accountant licensed in the State of Connecticut.

Gina Matteo is a manager with MAWC, LLC.  Gina has 23 years of experience performing auditing, taxation and bookkeeping services for small to mid-size businesses, non-profits and governmental entities.  Gina is a certified public accountant licensed in the State of Connecticut.  She is a graduate of Quinnipiac University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.

Roxann C. Lehberger is a manger with MAWC, LLC and graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a concentration in accounting and continuing graduate courses in tax at Quinnipiac University.  Roxann has more than 32 years of experience in public accounting providing accounting and tax services to individuals and businesses.  She serves as one of our tax specialists.

Jennifer Rodriguez is a Staff Accountant/Auditor with MAWC, LLC.  Jennifer has nearly 4 years of experience providing auditing and advisory services to governmental, non-profit and commercial organizations.  Jennifer is currently in the process of attaining her CPA accreditation.

Royce Patton is a Senior Accountant with MAWC, LLC.  Royce has 5 years of experience working in corporate and public accounting.  His experience consists of providing audit services to organizations in governmental, non-profit, construction, commercial, manufacturing and retail industries.  Royce graduated from Post University with a B.S. degree in Accounting.

Timothy F. Emerson is a Senior Accountant with MAWC.  Timothy has more than two decades experience functioning as controller, financial analyst and in operations at businesses ranging from Fortune 500 to sole proprietors.  His auditing experience includes non-profits as well municipalities and quasi-governmental agencies.  Timothy obtained his B.S in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Deanah O’Donnell is an accountant with MAWC, LLC.  Deanah has 18 years of experience working with small to mid-size restaurant and manufacturing businesses performing accounting, internal audit and treasury functions.  Deanah also has experience in estate planning and probate administration.  She graduated from the University of New Haven.

Lisa Chrzanowski is a full charge bookkeeper with over 15 years of accounting experience.  Lisa handles sales tax, quarterly payroll taxes, W-2’s, 1099’s, Personal Property Declarations and the processing of payroll.  She also maintains business clients accounts in QuickBooks.

Diane Wilkes is a bookkeeper with over 30 years of experience working in accounting.  Diane has experience using various accounting packages including QuickBooks. She prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements, payroll and sales tax returns, personal property tax declarations, specialized franchise reports and analyzes and reconciles various client accounts.

Laura J. Luciani is a bookkeeper with over 20 years of experience working in accounting.  Laura attended Eastern Connecticut State University.  Having an advanced proficiency with QuickBooks, Laura specializes in all aspects of business bookkeeping.  She also prepares payroll and sales tax returns, income and expense reports and personal property tax declarations.

Beth Cole is our Killingworth office manager and is responsible for providing a broad range of support services.  Beth is a graduate of Katharine Gibbs School and has been in the administrative field for over 30 years.

Jan Nacca is our Shelton office manager and has over 10 years of administrative experience.  Jan is responsible for providing a broad range of support services.

Lynn Dains is a graduate of Western Connecticut State University with a BS in elementary education.  She has worked in the accounting field for 33 years as an Office Administrator.  She also coordinates tax filings.

RETIRED FOUNDERS

SANDRA M. WOODBRIDGE, CPA

Sandra Woodbridge founded the firm of Sandra Woodbridge, CPA in November 1990. Since that time the firm grew to include another partner, two full time staff members and four part time staff members and became Woodbridge & Cusano, Inc. and merged with MAWC, LLC in November 2012. Sandra is a partner of MAWC, LLC. Sandra has over 30 years diversified business experience in the public and private sector. Her area of practice includes accounting, taxation, small business consulting and financial planning. She is responsible for our trust and estate division. Our clients rely on her for her intuitive ability to come up with and implement a sound financial plan for them. Having served as a controller and Vice President of a small manufacturing firm, she brings a hands-on knowledge of the business world to help our clients manage and run their businesses profitably. She also has experience in the non-profit sector, including A-133 audits.

Sandra graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of New Haven with a B.S. degree in Accounting. She has served as an elected member of the board of finance for the Town of Clinton. She has also served on several non-profit boards. Sandra is a member of both the AICPA and CSCPA. Sandra has passed the series 7 Investor’s exam and life health and disability exams.

DOMINIC L. CUSANO, MBA, CPA

Dominic Cusano is a partner of MAWC, LLC and has over 15 years of diversified business experience in private industry ranging from small firms to a Fortune 500 Company prior to entering the public sector. His areas of expertise span financial accounting and auditing, cost accounting, government contract accounting and inventory management in a manufacturing environment. Dominic has earned the following Certifications: Certified Management Accountant, Certified in Production and Inventory Management, and Certified Public Accountant.

In November of 1999, Dominic Cusano joined Sandra Woodbridge, CPA as a partner in the firm. Having served in positions from Plant Accountant, Senior Financial Analyst and Controller to Vice President, he has acquired the knowledge and skills necessary to provide real world solutions to our business clients. He is responsible for our Auditing Department and has experience in small businesses, Yellow Book (HUD), and Single Audits as well as compilations and reviews. Other areas of practice include consulting and taxation both individual and business.

Dominic graduated from the University of New Haven with a B.S. Degree in Business Administration and went on to earn an M.S. in Accounting. He is a member of the AICPA, CSCPA, and IMA.
